History of the Farmers’ Market:

We have happily returned to Historic Downtown Bryan after almost 20 years! We are located at 500 North Main St. in Downtown Bryan. We have always been led by a small group of elected local producers who wanted to provide the region with local produce. The original Saturday market only had a few vendors.

The goals in the early days were the same as the goals are today – to create venues where local farmers can connect directly with Brazos Valley consumers, to build a community in an urban setting, and to provide public education on regional farming, gardening and food preparation.

The Farmers’ Market in Brazos County, TX is governed by an all volunteer board of it’s members. The organization is funded through vendor fees and countless hours of volunteer time.

The Brazos Valley Farmers Market Association was founded in the early 1970s.

The Farmers’ Market in Brazos County receives no city, state, or federal funding.
